Re: New to HSP

Hello All: It's been awhile since my last post. Joey has been very good lately. He has another cold but I believe that since he stopped his allergy injections, his allergies cause him to become congested. We went for another urine check at the doctor office. He still has a 3+ blood and 1+ protein in...

Re: New to HSP

Joey had a urine test done. Came back with a 1+ protein, and 3+ blood. We were never informed of blood before. I e-mailed Dr. Kaplan (CHOP) about the results. He said there is reason for concern. Joey has no other symptoms of the HSP at this time. YIPEE!

Re: New to HSP

Meri's Dad: Thank you for your reply back. I do believe you are right. Joey was first diagnosed with HSP in late Sept., 2008, but the rash never totally went away. I think with his immune system trying to fight off his cold just kicks things in again and had given him tummy pains. He is doing better...

Re: New to HSP

Hello everyone, Joey had a cold (congestion, slight fever, sore throat) over the weekend. I treated his symptoms with over the counter medicine. The "rash" came back and by Tuesday night (2-17-09) he had stomach pains. All day yesterday, no matter how much Tylenol or Pepto-Bismol I gave hi...

Re: 28 with HSP

John and Momof3: John - My son was diagnosed with HSP Sept. of last year. He just turned 13 in December. You have probably read my posts about him. Anyway, you did mention that every time your doctor reduces the dosage of the prednisone, you experience pain and/or more purpura. The same thing happen...

Re: New Diagnosis - What to Expect?

Hello abbysmom: As you have probably read, every child is different. With my son, the stomach pains were first, then the rash, then vomiting. All happened within days of each other. All of those symptoms lasted approximately 3 weeks. The rash then kept showing up for another 7 weeks or so. He had ve...

Re: New to HSP

Hello All: Update on Joey - I believe we are in our 12th week of HSP. This past Monday, Dec. 8th, 2008 was the first Monday that Joey came home from school with NO "rash". He even had gym class. Joey went to boy scouts that night for the first time since over 2 months. By the time he came ...

Re: Good results!!

Meri's Mom:

That is great news! I pray also that you and your family are at the end of HSP. You have been a great help to everyone in this site. Thank you.

Re: New to HSP

Hello All: Update on Joey - I believe we are in our 9th week of HSP. Joey has been off Prednisone for 1 week now. The rash had seemed to come back bad whenever we reduced the amount of Prednisone. So his rash is now fading again. Has not had stomach pains in quite some time. Still does take gym in s...

Re: New to HSP

Update on Joey: Lately Joey has been doing good. Sometimes he has stomach pains in the morning and it takes awhile until the Tylenol and Pepto-Bismol or Zantac starts to work. Sometimes he has stomach pains after school. The rash is still running its' course. Usually bad on Mondays when he returns t...
